The first water and fat soluble combination (in a non-acidic buffered formulation) vitamin C in South Africa: for complete body protection. This combination of vitamin C ensures antioxidant protection of the water and fat soluble areas of the body. Unlike conventional vitamin C, Double Vitamin C is able to be stored by the body, and better penetrate the cell membrane to provide intracellular antioxidant protection
Ascorbic acid is a factor in the maintenance of good health that aids the body by contributing to iron absorption from food, assisting in the metabolism of fats and proteins and contributing to normal energy yielding metabolism, contributing to cell protection from free radical damage and from oxidative stress and contributing to the normal function of the immune system during and after intense physical stress. It also contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of blood vessels, bones, cartilage, gums, skin, and teeth, as well as normal physiological function, immune system, and nervous system function, the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, the regeneration of the reduced form of Vitamin E, and in connective tissue formation and wound healing.
SOLAL® Double Vitamin C™ capsules contain ascorbic acid in both the water-soluble and fat-soluble forms, namely as calcium ascorbate and ascorbyl palmitate respectively. Ascorbyl palmitate is a fat-soluble form of ascorbic acid prepared from ascorbic acid with palmitic acid. Calcium ascorbate is freely soluble in water. The combination of fat-soluble and water-soluble ascorbic acid allows for better retention by the body and shows marked synergy.
